Bluepoint Wind

Bluepoint Wind plans to build an offshore wind farm within its ocean lease area located 38 nautical miles (nm) off the coast of New York and 53 nm off the coast of New Jersey. At full capacity, this wind farm will be able to generate 2.4 gigawatts (GW) of clean wind energy – powering up about 1 million residential homes and helping NY and NJ meet their ambitious clean
energy and carbon emissions reduction goals.

Bluepoint Wind is a partnership between Ocean Winds, an international offshore wind energy company created by EDP Renewables (EDPR) and ENGIE (50:50), and New York-based Global Infrastructure Partners. Together, these companies have a successful track record of over 50 years of experience in development, financing, construction and operation of renewables projects, including more than 15 years on offshore wind projects.

Bluepoint Wind is strongly committed to sustainability, science, and the protection of our natural resources and preservation of historic resources across all projects. Bluepoint Wind
supports the advancement of climate science and the scientific study of our ocean’s resources and its complex ecosystems. Bluepoint Wind will seek the perspectives and input from all communities and stakeholders with environmental, cultural, economic, maritime and historical ties to the lease area to advance our understanding and find mutually beneficial solutions.
