Eoliennes flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL)

The EFGL Project is a joint venture between CDC Investment Works and Ocean Winds.

It is the first project among the 3 floating pilot projects being developed in French Mediterranean Sea to reach that stage.

This project is WFA “twin brother” with 3 turbines on PPI floaters. However, with several key innovations slated for demonstration at EFGL project, and thanks to an incremental de-risking process, the EFGL project will allow this technology to reach its 3rd generation, before for mass deployment.

The project is furthermore located in specific Mediterranean climate, one of the windiest area in France, with a mean wind speed close to 10m/s, as well a challenging level of turbulence intensity.

Located inside a natural marine parc, the project will include very specific devices and environmental assessments such as birds and bats detection and will study eco-friendly design.
