Warsaw, 13.03.2026: IJGlobal has recognised the financing of Ocean Winds’ BC-Wind offshore wind project in Poland with its Market Impact Award, acknowledging the transaction as one that has materially influenced the development of greenfield energy and infrastructure financing.
The BC-Wind financing is one of the largest renewable energy project financings ever completed in Poland and among the first non-recourse offshore wind project financings in the country. The transaction combined multilateral financing, export credit support and a broad commercial bank syndicate, creating a diversified and resilient capital structure.
Approximately €2 billion was raised through long-term project finance debt provided by the European Investment Bank and Spain’s Instituto de Crédito Oficial, alongside a group of 13 international and domestic commercial lenders, including leading Polish banks and major global infrastructure financiers. The participation of both domestic and international institutions demonstrated strong confidence in the Polish offshore wind regulatory framework and in the long-term stability of contracted revenues.
Daan Van Hoyweghen, Chief Financial Officer at Ocean Winds, said: “We are proud that the BC-Wind financing has been recognised by IJGlobal as a transaction with real market impact. The diversity of lenders – including multilaterals, export credit institutions and international commercial banks – demonstrates that offshore wind in Poland has reached full investment-grade maturity as an infrastructure asset class. It establishes a reference financing structure for future offshore wind projects in the region.”
