Developed exclusively by Ocean Winds, Hanbando Offshore Wind is a bottom-fixed offshore wind project with a planned capacity of 1,125 MW, located 120 kilometres off the coast of Incheon, within South Korea’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). In early 2025, the project was granted its Electricity Business License (EBL), securing development rights over the sea area and reserving interconnection capacity.
From our offices in Songdo, our team is actively working and engaging with local stakeholders related to the efficient and sustainable development of the project. In 2024, the project signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with about 20 residents and fishing associations from Incheon and Gyeonggi, while also partnering with regional companies to strengthen collaboration and the local supply chain.
Connected directly to the Seoul–Incheon metropolitan area, one of the largest electricity demand centres in South Korea and globally, Hanbando will play a key role in supporting the country’s renewable energy targets, including 125.9 GW by 2038.
